Marc Jacobs Re(Marc)able Foundation Review

Marc Jacobs Re(Marc)able Foundation – £37 Via Harrods

Earlier this year, Marc Jacobs beauty finally landed in the UK exclusively to Harrods both online and in store. Since it was almost impossible to get to the UK before this, I was excited to go in store and test out the range.

Knowing me I had to pick up face products, one of which was the Re(Marc)able Foundation. I went for the shades Bisque Golden (equivalent to NC30) and Medium Golden (NC35-37). Let me start off by saying, this is officially my number 1 foundation of all time. I’ve worn this non stop for the past 2 months and here is why.

Marc Jacobs say…

Instant Results. All-Day Weightless Finish. Beyond Full Coverage.
The weight is over: 24-hour full, flawless coverage is yours in an instant with this ultra-lightweight foundation concentrate. This revolutionary oil-free formula contains twice as much pigment as a leading full-coverage foundation, but it is emulsified with groundbreaking ingredients so the smallest amount completely covers with dot-on perfection.

Patented golden pigments are wrapped in lecithin, an ingredient that is biochemically similar to skin, for immediate, effortless blending and a smooth, soft matte finish.

So here are my initial impressions of the foundation:

  • Long lasting
  • Full coverage
  • Lightweight formula
  • Oil free
  • Wide shade range
  • Easily blendable

  • Does flashback in photographs
  • 22ml for £37 (Ouch)
  • Applicator is pretty useless

Lets start with the pros. This is definitely a FULL coverage foundation, I find I don’t need any concealer at all around my face when I use this. I usually tend to go for a medium-full so I love this. The best thing about this is, despite the really full coverage, the consistency is thin and weightless, making it really comfortable to wear and very blend-able, not what you would expect from a foundation with such high coverage. The finish is pretty matte so if thats not something you like this won’t be for you. I love that this doesn’t transfer at all too. I reckon you could skip powder with this and it would still hold up well throughout the day.

Plus its literally budge proof, the lasting powder on this is incredible. I usually get smile lines, with every foundation I’ve ever tried but this is the only exception. I’ve really put this to the test and worn it over 16 hours (don’t judge me lol) and it stayed in place perfectly. My skin gets quite oily in the T zone usually, but this withstands that and stays flawless without looking cakey.

I was really impressed with the shade range as well, its extensive and caters to a wide range of complexions and undertones. I initially just went for the Bisque Golden which matched me well, but with summer approaching I knew i would want something a little darker so went back for the Medium Golden (and another bisque for back up lol) addicted much.

It was honestly hard to think of any cons for this except for the fact that it doesn’t photograph well under flash, which doesn’t bother me too much as I prefer a dewy finish when photographing makeup anyway and this is quite matte. Also something worth baring in mind is that this does contain only 22ml, which is less than your average foundation, however a little does go a very long way! Lastly, although I love the packaging I’m not a fan of the stick applicator. I think a pump would be much more useful, especially when you get towards the end of the foundation, I can imagine the applicator would make it difficult getting product out.

Overall I think everyone needs to try this foundation, It has such a unique texture and consistency and looks completely flawless and airbrushed in real life. Definitely my firm favorite at the moment. If i know I have a long day ahead, I always reach for this and it doesn’t disappoint.
